Winter Is Almost Over

Tamworth CBD
When we arrived here in Tamworth last February it was Autumn. My husband was told that we would only be here for three months, maximum four. So we expected to be back in Sydney by June, which was the start of Winter. It never happened. We're still here and Winter is almost over. I'm not complaining (okay, I am, a little). I'm thankful that my husband has work and that his salary can support both of us without me having to work. It's just that when people say something, you expect them to deliver. Anyway, as I was saying Spring is approaching fast. And it's my favourite season! No more bulky clothes, no more freezing toes. Yay! :)

Back from Hiatus

Hello! I just realized that it's now the 1st of June, coincidentally the start of Winter season here in Australia, and I have not written anything at all the whole May. The whole month went in a blur. We didn't do anything out of ordinary so I had nothing interesting to write about.

We are nearing our fourth month here in Tamworth and there's still no word from my husband's employer if/when we can go back to Sydney. I didn't bring any winter clothes here because I thought we would only be here until the second week of June. Boy, was I mistaken! So we've decided to go back to Sydney next weekend to get clothes and supplies from the storage. I will also send the balikbayan box to the Phils. It's not full yet, I still need to buy a few things from Ikea. I can hardly wait! :)

BIG Things Australia - Tamworth, NSW

As I mentioned in a previous post about Big Things, The Big Golden Guitar is the next installment. It is just four minutes away from where we're staying at here in Tamworth. This morning after attending mass and some window shopping, we decided to visit it. Here are some pictures:

Two Months and Counting

Today marks our second month here in Tamworth. When my husband was told in January that he was being assigned here for three to four months, he wasn't a happy camper. He loves the hustle and bustle of city living that's why we lived near the CBD in Sydney. We talked about it and decided to give Tamworth a go. Two months on, I'd say we've adjusted to life here pretty well. As the saying goes, if life gives you lemons, make lemonade! :) Also, the realization that we're already halfway through our supposed stay here makes me want to weep. Haha.

P.S. I can't wait to go back to Sydney. <3

BIG Things Australia - Coffs Harbour, NSW and Gold Coast, QLD

According to wikipedia, The Big Things of Australia are a loosely related set of large structures or sculptures.

The Big Banana is located along the Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour. It's not technically the first Big Thing that we've seen since some Big Things lists include The Big Hard Rock Cafe Guitar at the Gold Coast, which we saw last year.

These huge structures are fascinating. I plan to drag my DH to as many Big Things sites as possible. Our next destination is The Big Golden Guitar right here in Tamworth.

Coffs Harbour Easter Holiday

It's confirmed! We're going to Coffs Harbour for Easter Holiday. I'm so excited.

It's about 4-hour drive from Tamworth to Coffs Harbour. I already made the hotel reservation. Now I have to research about Things to Do and See in the area. I like doing researches about different places. I can't exactly describe how I feel. Sometimes I think I'm more excited doing the research than being on the actual trip/holiday itself. It sounds crazy, I know. I have exactly one week to make an itinerary. Wish me luck! =)

Back at One

I'm writing this post all the way from Tamworth, NSW. We relocated here from Sydney because of my husband’s job and we’re currently discovering the differences of city and country living. We've been here for a little over a month now and we're still adjusting , but I am optimistic. You can say that I’m trying to look at the glass ‘half-full’ instead of ‘half-empty’. I figured might as well enjoy the ride, treat the experience as an adventure and try to learn from it.

I will not be working while we are here so I decided to go back to writing. I had a personal blog ages ago but have not updated it for about 4 or 5 years now. I got the inspiration to write again from a friend. I’m hoping to be able to share my experiences with you while I rediscover the joys of writing. Cheers!
